Making Money Online – A Call to Action

All you are or ever shall become is the result of the use to which you put your mind.
-Napoleon Hill

The hardest part of making a change is actually doing it. In order to do it, you have to set your mind to clearly and unwaveringly focus on what you want. Napoleon Hill is one of the best at professing the value of this type of intense focus. Hill provides bibles full of truth on the subject in his landmark work, “Law Of Success”.

If you want to make money on the internet, you need to decide this once and for all. You need to make it an obsession. Now, you can dabble with the thought of making money on the internet and you will probably fail. When you fail, you can easily tell all of your friends that you thought you were on to something good, but all the internet money making systems are scams anyway. Your friends will laugh it off with you over a beer and that will be that. The bottom line is that you will know what happened; you failed.

If you are looking for a get rich quick scheme with little or no work involved, you might as well stop reading this article now. Get yourself another beer and get on over to ESPN.com and check the scores. Forget about it. You are not ready. You don’t have the commitment required. Now, if you are confident that there must be a way to make money on the internet and are thinking seriously of devoting some time and effort to figure out how, continue on and you might find something useful in the subsequent ramblings.

My first recommendation to you is to work on getting your mind right. You need A CALL TO ACTION. Go to Barnes Noble or Amazon.com and get yourself a copy of “Think and Grow Rich” or, if you are feeling particularly dedicated, “Law of Success”. Both are by Napoleon Hill. Of course you could take a Carnegie course, read Covey’s 7 Habits or dance around with Tony Robbins, but I like to go to the source. The source is Hill. Is this starting to sound like work? Well, that’s because it is. It will be worth it though, trust me on this one.

If you want to succeed in anything, unfortunately, you have to work hard at it and dedicate yourself. Fortunately there are varying definitions of how working hard. At least there are varying rewards. If you work hard to punch the clock 40 hours per week in a thankless corporate environment, to me, that is beyond the definition of working hard. That is near what some may refer to as Hades. Not for me, and, apparently, not for you if you have read this far in this article. If you work hard doing something you enjoy from your own home or office and make a living at it, this makes for a much more palatable definition of working hard. This type of hard work has a definite purpose that I can and do live with.

Again, to make money on the internet you will need to call yourself to action. You will need to do some research to ensure that you do not waste your time and money. If you are truly dedicated to the goal of working for yourself and working from home in an internet business, you will find either of the books I recommended above tremendous assets in getting your mind right and keeping it there.

Call yourself to action. Set your goals by writing them out and posting them on the wall. Keep a copy by your bedside and read them aloud each evening before you sleep and in the morning just after you wake. You will soon find yourself obsessed with attaining your goals. Much to your surprise you will probably also start to see yourself attaining the goals. Don’t let me try to give you all the secrets of getting your mind right as Hill does it far better than I.

While you are working on getting your mind right (hopefully following Hill’s recommendations) set aside some time to research your desired internet business each and every day. If you want to start with affiliate marketing of products, go to Click Bank and read their literature. Sign up for a Google AdWords account and go through the tutorials and advice.

Please do not do like I did and jump in trying to sell Click Bank products you don’t understand to people you don’t know how to find. Trust me on this one as I speak from personal experience. You will spend a lot of money and, unless you are darn lucky, get paltry results. Be patient. You have time, don’t use it wasting money.

Spend some time at forums. A good one I used and use is Warrior Forum. It has ranges of threads available from beginners to guru status. Get involved. Read postings and evaluate them. Do a search for Dr. Joe Vitale, or Mr. Fire as he is called, and read up on some of his stuff. I do not know him personally, but he is a fellow Texan and I have read enough of his work to know that he is also inspired by Hill.

Learn before you leap. There are a lot of sources out there and even a few really decent programs you can subscribe to which will teach and coach you along the way in a structured and efficient manner.

Call yourself to action, get your mind right, do your homework and soon you will be able to attain your goal of making money on the internet. Get obsessed and get yourself there. There is plenty of room for you to carve out your niche on the internet and say good bye to punching the time clock for good.
